Liverpool, Arsenal and
Leicester away. No walk in the park. But Swansea have taken seven points
from those three fixtures as Carlos Carvalhal continues to lead the
charge away from danger.
The
Portugal boss has been the unlikely life raft that has kept Swansea
afloat. Without him they would have undoubtedly been swimming in deep
water by now.
When he first came on board it was said Carvalhal is here to rearrange deck chairs on the Titanic. It was inevitable that Swansea were going down and they may still do but in the short time he has been in charge there is already more than an element of doubt to that.
The fact that that is now being questioned is testament to the job he has done. Sacked from Sheffield Wednesday and then walked into a Premier League job. It seemed Swansea had accepted their fate by making such a move but he has been a revelation and proven to be an astute appointment, too.
It didn't start that away for him though, with the hosts racing into an early lead. Jamie Vardy showed good composure to curl past Lukasz Fabianski from close range after a patient and intricate Leicester build up.
Swansea managed to get themselves back on level terms shortly after the interval. Federico Fernandez worked some space inside the box and leaped the highest to head in Ki Sung-yueng's corner.
There is still much to do for Carvalhal at Swansea. This result does see them climb out of the relegation zone, though and the Swans are now unbeaten in four league games with a home tie coming up against Burnley.
