Gerard Pique cannot 'silence our fans', according to Espanyol boss Quique Sanchez Flores

Espnayol manager Quique Sanchez Flores has blasted Gerard Pique for his controversial goal celebration during Barcelona's 1-1 draw.
The defender put his finger to his lips to try 'silence' the fans after he had scored a late equaliser.
Sanchez Flores insisted his club's supporters were above such actions and criticised Pique for the provocation.
Speaking after the game, Sanchez Flores told reporters: 'Our fans are above this sort of behaviour, and will respond in the right way.
'Pique will not be able to silence our fans, not our fans, this is not something we will concern ourselves with.
'We are happy with our performance, it was a good result and showed we can switch between formations and systems, plus our defensive line was very solid.
'It was tough for both team with poor conditions and a pitch that was cutting up, but I was pleased with our approach and attitude.
'The games with Barcelona do not define our season and we must keep working hard to improve and hope to gather more points in the weeks ahead.'
Barcelona looked off their best in the match at RCDE Stadium on Sunday afternoon with the pouring rain throwing the Catalan's usual seamless rhythm.
But the host's second-half goal focused the visitor's attention and Pique came up with the goods with less than ten minutes remaining.
The tension had clearly been building up inside the defender who let it all out after rescuing a point for his side.
Pique had been booed for much of the game and seemingly got much pleasure from provoking those who had provoked him throughout the match.
Failure to win the match meant Barcelona were unable to stretch their lead at the top of La Liga. However, they still sit top by nine points while Espnayol struggle in 15th.

Clasico conspiracy? The truth on whether Barcelona or Real Madrid receive more red cards

Clasico conspiracy? The truth on whether Barcelona or Real Madrid receive more red cards.   Both Clasico clubs have regularly claimed to have been victimised by officials but do the official stats support either side's case? Clement Lenglet's dismissal for an alleged elbow on Pere Pons in Barcelona's Liga draw with Girona on Sunday caused all sorts of controversy. Even Pons was surprised by referee Gil Manzano's VAR-assisted decision to dismiss Lenglet, with the midfielder admitting afterwards that he thought that he had fouled the French defender. "I took a blow but when I got up, I apologised to Lenglet and shook his hand because I thought it was my fault," he confessed. As bemused Barca boss Ernesto Valverde pointed out afterwards, "It's the first time that the player who is sent off receives an apology from his rival for fouling him!" It was a significant call, too, as Barcelona were leading through a Lionel Messi...
