Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang focused on other things, hints Borussia Dortmund manager

Borussia Dortmund manager Peter Stoger confirmed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed Friday’s match against Hertha Berlin because his mind was ‘focused on many things’.
The prolific striker has been heavily linked with a January move to Arsenal as Arsene Wenger looks to reshape his attack in light of Alexis Sanchez‘s impending move to Manchester United.
Dortmund secured a 1-1 draw against Hertha in the absence of the 28-year-old Gabon international, who angered his current club’s fans after he was pictured playing in a five-a-side match with friends while his teammates were in action.
Despite his latest indiscretion, Stoger insists Aubameyang could yet feature in Dortmund’s next fixture against Freiburg if he regains his focus.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang focused on Arsenal transfer, hints Borussia Dortmund boss
‘Well generally it doesn’t bother me at all if Aubameyang right now is kicking it around somewhere else. That’s his decision. If he had been good the moment we had training, he would have played [Friday] today,’ Stoger said.
‘But I didn’t have that impression of him in the last training before the match.
‘I felt like he was busy with many things but not this important match. That’s why he wasn’t with us.
‘If he is also playing football all the time next week and there are photos of him, then he will be in the squad against Freiburg.’

Clasico conspiracy? The truth on whether Barcelona or Real Madrid receive more red cards.   Both Clasico clubs have regularly claimed to have been victimised by officials but do the official stats support either side's case? Clement Lenglet's dismissal for an alleged elbow on Pere Pons in Barcelona's Liga draw with Girona on Sunday caused all sorts of controversy. Even Pons was surprised by referee Gil Manzano's VAR-assisted decision to dismiss Lenglet, with the midfielder admitting afterwards that he thought that he had fouled the French defender. "I took a blow but when I got up, I apologised to Lenglet and shook his hand because I thought it was my fault," he confessed. As bemused Barca boss Ernesto Valverde pointed out afterwards, "It's the first time that the player who is sent off receives an apology from his rival for fouling him!" It was a significant call, too, as Barcelona were leading through a Lionel Messi...
